Milk Plastic (Caesin)

Aim:

I want to find out how to make Milk Plastic (Caesin)

method:


equipment
  • microwave,stove,oven
  • measuring cup measuring spoon (tsp.)
  • milk (1 cup)
  • pot on microwavable container
  • white vinegar
  • paper towels
  • spoon
  • mug
  • optional food colouring

instructions
  1. get equipment
  2. pour 1 cup of milk into a pot or microwavable container
  3. heat the milk in the microwave or stove until it is steaming
  4. add 4 teaspoons of white vinegar to a mug
  5. add the hot milk to the mug with white vinegar
  6. stir the mixture with a spoon
  7. stack 4 layers of paper towels on a surface that is safe to get damp
  8. scoop out the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towels
  9. fold the paper towels over the curds press down to absorb excess liquid
  10. knead all the curds together into a ball of dough

Edible slime

 Aim:

I want to find out how to make edible slime.

method:


equipment

  • marshmallows
  • Popsicle stick
  • cups
  • microwave
  • vegetable oil
  • icing sugar
instructions
  1. get equipment
  2. put the marshmallows in the cup
  3. microwave the marshmallows in the cup 4 10 seconds
  4. wash your hands before making your slime
  5. mix it with the Popsicle stick icing sugar until reading
  6. then you can eat it or play with it



results:

it felt hot on my hands,sticky when I started playing with it,it tasted yummy when I started eating  it was so chewy and yummy when I started eating it

skittle colours

 Aim:


I want to find out what happens when you put Skittles water

method:

equipment

  • petri dish
  • Skittles
  • warm water
  • small Beaker

instructions
  1. get your equipment
  2. spread out your Skittles around the edge
  3. gentle  pour the water into the middle of the petri dish
  4. observe what happens

results:





discussion:
why did the colour leave the Skittles?
the sugar coating dissolved in the water.

why did the colours not Max?

Each color of Skittle has a slightly different chemical make up which, when dissolved, creates a water solution that has slightly different properties such as density, salinity, do not mix.
